My husband and I are ready to start having children ...?
I have 4 sugar pills left over in my last packet of 28 pills Aleese birth control. I've been on birth control pills for four years, I am not a smoker or a drinker, I have never smoked or drinking. But my husband smokes outside on the back porch when he has a beer, he says he will quit when there is a baby in the picture. My questions are the following: 1) What should I do to prepare for conception? 2) Do I use Palmer's stretch mark products before I see it or when I conceive to prevent stretch marks? 3) Do I need to obtain a doctor's prescription for prenatal vitamins or do I buy them on the counter? 4) Is there a waiting period for taking prenatal vitamins before trying to conceive? Thank you very much:) I had my last pap August 14 2007.
If you're serious about it, there are a number of things you can do to get you in the best shape possible to have a baby. For your questions: 1. Get a healthy weight. Being overweight or underweight in pregnancy to both carry significant risks. Start a diet healthy and exercise, if you have not already done so. Not only does this give your baby the best start possible, it also protects your body from the drain of pregnancy and exercise can make work easier and faster. 2. The best thing is to prevent stretch marks and diet exercise. Also, drink a lot and many of the water. But it never hurts to use lotions and creams as well, then you can start now if you want. It should keep you from the discomfort of itching so common in pregnancy. 3. I do not know if you need a order or not. In Canada, you can get prenatal to the pharmacy. You'll have to check. 4. You should start taking vitamins immediately. It will your body to build a store of nutrients for your support and your baby through pregnancy. Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy!
