Chantax and Xanax .... Overall a good idea?
I searched the web for drug interactions for the new "to stop smoking "product, Chantax ... but can not find a complete list of drug interactions. I am concerned about a neighbor who has fits of Frequent panic ... they are mixing the two drugs (xanax and Chantax), and I'm pretty sure this is not a good idea. I need something other than intuition, however, to get this person to stop mixing the two ... anyone got a list of drugs full interaction?
These two drugs in their business name fit like a, but they are quite different and really work on completely different mechanisms. Although there is always a possibility of drug interactions, In this case, there is no sustpect reason why Chantix and serious interaction Xanax. Xanax (Alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine, which taken as directed (and no abuse), may be very effective in stopping anxiety attacks with very few side effects withdrawal symptoms ... again, if not abused. Chantix (Varenicline) is quite another creature. As Xanax affects a neurotransmitter called GABA, Chantix is designed to bind almost exclusively on receivers nicotine in the brain. The idea of Chantix is that you lock the molecule drugs "on the receiver while nicotine nicotine smoking is not can ... Therefore, if you smoke, you do not "ugh" feeling that nicotine product and eventually lose the desire just done. To date Chantix has been one of the most effective (in pill form) to help people quit smoking (those who want to quit smoking) ... but like any medicine, there are risks of side effects. Perhaps the most common side effect reported is vivid dreams (not necessarily nightmares) although there have been reports as serious as the psychotic behavior of real type, but this is extremely rare. This might lead one to think that this drug is more prone to interact with a drug like Xanax, but that is simply not true. And like all medications, surgery or something in life, people are always ready to share the worst scenario and try to sell it as if it is running. The reality is that the greatest threat to the health of neighbors is to continue to smoke cigarettes ... which, after all, is the drug that interacts with everything and getting worse things!
