If I can not get therapy and then I get a refund from the NHS?
I'm not a heavy smoker - cigars perhaps 2 or 3 per month. In the privacy of my own home - I drink perhaps 2 or 3 glasses of wine a night and a large G & T on Friday. Like most - I work 50 hours per week, so when I get in - I like a drink. I do not have 1, and frequently do not believe, but following a busy day it is a fantastic way to relax. I bike and walk to W / ends, I am rarely ill, perhaps a bad cold every 5 years. I generally to be asthmatic and should attend an all-money clinics 2 years for some cause, when I was told that I am overweight and should lose weight, should give up smoking, should cut back on alcohol and get more excercise. I hear there is a massive campaign of 10 million pounds to help do all the issues I adore because I am apparently draining NHS resources. I paid into the NHS for nearly 20 years and have rarely used methods. Legally, if the government help to get therapy because of my lifestyle, can I get a refund?
No. NHS funding is not like a savings plan - Although your tax money might have financed part of the NHS over the years you have been actually paying the government determine how to invest it. Your tax is not "reserved". The government decides how everyone should pay much tax, and the law. The government also decides how much funding the NHS should get, and via a system trust, someone who decides who should obtain therapy, and an additional set of laws. Although I understand your point, the question is not how much you paid in the NHS, is regardless of whether the therapy is likely to be effective. If the medical opinion is that is unlikely to be effective with out a alter of lifestyle, why would it be a great idea to invest it, then it could be used to treat someone else with a higher probability of a effective outcome?
