The universal cycles of change: â € ¨ models in nature Translated to Human Behavior
We can learn a lot about ourselves by observing of living cells, growth of trees, ocean waves, with other models and universal biological growth and the creation self. Nature is our greatest teacher. Since humans are part of nature and our universe is 15 billion years, it seems clear that must be some sort of connection between the models that exist outside of ourselves and the unconscious patterns that reside within us.
Over the past 16 years I have been observing nature and studying the laws of our universe with the same question in mind. â € œHow is our inner reality directly linked to our external reality, and how the two influence each other? Â € What I led on a long journey that has included the study cybernetics, the science of complexity, autopoiesis chaos theory, morphogenetic fields, quantum mechanics and string theory, coupled with the NLP and many other psychological and spiritual models. Through this ongoing research and numerous longa € "endless discussions with my husband, Tim Hallbomâ €" Weâ € ™ ve developed a model to help you consciously create what you want in life called the universal cycles of change.
The universal cycles of change is a continuous process thata € ™ s happening in our universe about 15 billion years, so it is a really old model. We observed seven universal cycles of change occurring in all living systems such as plants, trees, stars, cells and animals. You can also see these same cycles occurring in most non-living systems such as cars, houses, computers and economics.
The universal cycles of change can also be found in all aspects of human life and behavior. They occur in marriages, in business, health care, with families in various states of mind and so on. We go through these cycles every day and every year of our lives. Being aware of these cycles can help us to consciously create the kinds of experiences of life we want, and bring forth the reality of our choice. People who succeed in life are naturally sensitive to these cycles of change.
Here is a brief description of the seven universal cycles of change that have been identified (A more detailed description of these cycles is expected later in section):
A creation â € "This cycle is about New Beginnings. All systems must have starting point of some kind.
Growth â € "When a living system begins to grow and develop, it becomes a œself organizing.â € €
Complexity due to â € "As a system begins to take shape and form through continuous growth, it becomes more complex to the point where it reaches what we call a state â € œsteady. â € œâ system works best when he is in stable condition.
Turbulence â € "When the system becomes too complex in its growth, problems begin to develop and define the turbulence in Turbulence is considered feedback environmental condition that the system is complex can not be sustained. Something needs to somehow go to next step the creation and growth. If this change does not occur, then chaos will set in.
Chaos â € "At this time the system starts to crumble because it became too complex, and it defines chaos. The system can no longer hold together.
Droppings Off â € "After the chaos settled, there must be some sort of neglect or being slow to return the system in balance.
Meditation and dormancy â € "This is the final cycle in which the ystem found balance, which will be recycled back into € |
Creation. The system now has less mass, energy even more because it contains all of the learning cycles. Everything in our previous universe evolves and grows, and always has been for billions years. Part of this natural evolutionary process includes going through different states of change. Take a tree for example, his metaphor for the more I found easy to describe the universal cycles of change.
The first cycle that passes through a tree is that of creation, what happens when a seed is planted. Then the trees growsâ € "because he was provided with enough water and sunlight to grow. Over time the tree reaches a steady state of maturity in which all leaves have bloomed with the beauty complete. Then the autumn season sets in, the leaves begin to change color. They turn brown and fall to the ground. After this happens, the tree is dormant, leafless. But spring comes around, shoots of new leaves and trees throughout the creative process does not happen again.
Because all living systems become too complex in their growth and development, they must have some sort of fall off to regain their balance. The trees make it all the time with their leaves. We can learn many trees modeling. Have you ever been to a tree and its leaves are falling. And suddenly, you hear the trees shouting, â € œPleeeease, do not let me drop! Â € Â it never happens. The tree has mastered the art of drop off and recycling of safeguarding creation. The snakes are in the same way when they lose their skin. I never know a snake to resist process. Although most computers have bins to drop unnecessary information which may slow their hard drive, thus allowing for the computer operate more quickly and creatively.
Interestingly, there is only one living system that does not let go naturally through the 15 billion years old process of change. This same system itself can stay stuck in turbulence and chaos during periods extended hours. The same system resists abandonment often out of what should be filed. Can you guess what system is it?
Humans, of course.
People are living systems that allow themselves to stay stuck in turbulence and chaos. They are only living systems that do not fall all that must be deposited in their lives. We see this resistance happens in many relationships, career and health.
For example, my husband, Tim, and I had to teach a course in Australia last year, when a man in the group share an amazing achievement he had on the universal cycles of change and how they relate to him. This man had a teenage daughter that he had been unable to communicate with for several years. After learning the universal cycles of change, he raised his hand and said:
â € OEI finally understand why I was having so many problems with my 17 year old daughter, for my. In my mind, I still think of her as a child. I realize now that I need of â € ~ Drop € ™ offa my perception of her as a child and start treating it as a young adult. There is total logic to me, why there was so much turbulence and chaos in our relationship over the last two years.â €
Another woman who attended our training London, England, told me about an amazing experience she had with her children and the universal cycles of change model. â € œKris, I just tell you the funniest thing that happened to me last night. After learning the universal cycles of change models, I decided that I needed to â € ~ drop offa € ™ € the coa "dependency relationship I have with my five children.â Adult € she says with enthusiasm.
â € œEven if my children grew up, they are all so necessary. I felt that my life was all around them and there was no place for me. On returning home by car last night, I set the intention to release € coa 'dependence I was held entangled with my children for so many years. After I returned, all € ~ â € ™ chaos broke. One by one, each child phoned me with some major crisis. One of my children € ™ s car crashes, the other had to break with a boyfriend, another was a bad day, and so on. The phone kept ringing off the hook for their problems. I told each child one by one, they were responsible for themselves from now and they need to solve their own problems, â € she said. At this point in history, she shone as she kept saying, â € OEI just wanted to tell you that today is the beginning of the rest of my life. I am more coa € "depending on my children and I have recovered my life, I'll return at school and I am also going to start painting again, and do the kind of things that make me happy. I'll start to live my life for me now, instead for the whole world else.â €
Very often people are afraid to make changes because they are worried about throwing their lives in turbulence and chaos. In the case of the English woman, she feared that her children feel great resentment against her if she was not always fully present for them. Instead of being present for her children, she eventually resentment because it wasnâ ™ € t Learn to live the life she wanted. Once she pulled her children from the coa € "obligations on an enmeshment, she was able to evolve into a new way to interact with her children. And in so doing, she discovered she could be more present for her children because she felt more spiritually fulfilled in his life.
As mentioned previously, the universal cycles of change affecting all areas of our lives. Areas their primary life purpose are:
* Romance and Lovea
* Career
* Health
* Family
* Questions Money
* Friends
* Spirituality
* Your current mood
When you evaluate each area of your life, what universal cycle of change are you experiencing in this context? If any of your areas are in turbulence and chaos, you may want to ask you,
â € œWhat are some things I need to file so that I can bring my life back in balance? Â €
It doesn t ™ € always been a spectacular fall. You can make something as simple as reading the morning paper or diet Drinking Coke every day. Some other examples of things that may need to be filed are: attitudes, beliefs, attitudes, ways of thinking, perceptions, habits, jobs and relationships. Other specific examples may include: smoking, drinking too much alcohol, weight, television, coffee, boundaries unclear rampant profiteering, the old relationships that must be updated, a troublesome employee, a toxic friendship, disorder, disorganization, resentment, anger, jealousy, unnecessary debt and outstanding issues with people.
Â
Here is a more detailed description of the universal cycles of change to help you determine which cycle you may be:
 € Create "This cycle is about new beginnings. Everything has a starting point, and this usually starts with an idea, action or plan. Some Examples of this include starting a business, having a baby, invest in your first stock or fund, the creation of an idea for a book or a painting, build your first home, getting married, buying a new car, planting the seeds for a vegetable garden, or the Big Bang (early our universe as we know IT).
Growth â € "When a system begins to grow and develop, it becomes also œself organizing.â € â € What this means is that the initial creation begins to take shape or form. New models begin to develop, and the system Selfa € "revolves around the original design. For example, a new company developing a marketing plan wonderful, the tack that you have invested in began to rise in price, the little tree you planted has shown signs of growth, you install covers Novelty and new seat covers in your car or your child speaks his first words, and takes its first steps.
Complexity to Maturity â € "As a system begins to take shape and form through continuous growth, it becomes more complex to the point where it reaches a â Œsteady state.â € € A system works best when he is in stable condition. Some examples of steady state is when things are going exceptionally well in your work, when an athlete enters the area where the tree you have planted is sprouting beautiful green leaves when your marriage is going incredibly well, the car you bought is running great, the actions you've invested in has a big jump in the right direction, or when you feel good about yourself and everything in your life.
Turbulence € "Feedback â €" When the system becomes too complex in its growth and development, problems begin to develop fixed and turbulence. Turbulence is considered as feedback from the environment that the state's complex system € may no longer be supported and that something needs to be reorganized, changed, or delivered. For example, you may have hired someone to work for you and this person not work, you begin to notice some serious May communication problems in your marriage that are making your own health and Wella € "under the leaves on the tree that you planted begin to change color, you may have invested in a stock and it starts to decline, we developed a minor physical symptom which is bothersome, you notice any signs of depression or dissatisfaction in your life, your car starts to make funny little noises.
Chaos â € "It while the system completely collapses and chaos sets in. For example, the leaves on the tree turn brown and shrivel, the employee embarrassing acts outside of where the overall welfare of the enterprise is threatened, the stock you bought was a huge drop, your wedding completely falls apart, you are seriously ill, or the funny noise that your car has been making changes to a loud noise and choking of greie € "blue smoke starts blowing on the nozzle.
Off excreta and sanitation â € "Sometimes life becomes so complex that chaos sets in and we must make something to help the system to regain its overall balance. For example, when the snake sheds its skin or leaves fall off the treeâ € "these are considered droppings off. Even having to replace a part on your car is a form of drop-off or a form of reorganization. To move forward with a challenge of life difficult you often need to let go of a limiting belief, a dysfunctional relationship, change behavior, or rearrange the way you view the world making space in your life to create something wonderfully new. All forms of life in this world, like trees, snakes, and even stars reflect this fall outside the natural cycle to occur, so that non-organic forms such as computers with animated garbage. The purpose of the garbage is to get rid of the additional information on the hard drive because it takes too much space. Humans are the only ones who resist these natural cycles of change.
Meditation and dormancy â € "The way a system returns to its balance is to drop something off. Then, it can regenerate during the dormant phase, thus allowing himself to be recycled back up to a new level of evolution of creation. As well as stands of trees without leaves during the bitter cold winter, we sometimes need to go in a place of meditation and inner silence. It might be uncomfortable for some time, but it can be very healing to mind a quiet or to lay low for a while. Before you can proceed, you must give yourself plenty of time to renew and rejuvenate. Once you've done this, you can become creative again. You will need to file what is holding you back. But you'll still have all the knowledge and wisdom that was gained the entire experiment. This sets the tone for a new cycle of creativity and growth.
My husband Tim and I found it is useful for people to look at different areas of their lives and determine where they are in the universal cycles of change. For example, there was a Women participating in a seminar WealthyMindâ "¢ in Dallas, Texas last November, which itself took through the universal cycles of change model. In doing so, she discovered that there were three main areas of his life which were in total chaos. These areas included employment, marriage and health. She was very unhappy in her marriage for over five years and tried everything to make it work. She and her husband had not slept in the same room for over three years. It had also become extremely dissatisfied with his job and was 40 pounds overweight. She decided she needed to file his marriage, his job, and the 40 extra pounds of weight she carried.
This same woman reappeared four months Later in our program WealthyMindTM in Omaha, Nebraska. She had lost 32 pounds and looked fantastic. I asked him how his life was going. She said she had asked her husband for a divorce and was in the middle of the transition out of his old job and starting a new business. She also file certain limiting beliefs about money, which gave him the courage to start a new business. She admitted that all these changes have created some chaos in his life, yet she was happier than she had ever been and was very happy in his new adventure.
We have certainly donâ ™ € t recommend dropping off a relationship or a job. This is a last resort. We always encourage our students and Customers start by trying to abandon an attitude, perceptions, or behaviors and beliefs that are related to their lack of overall harmony. If you come off these things doesn € ™ t work, then maybe they need to drop off the relationship or employment. Especially if it is highly dysfunctional, toxic, or abusive. Fortunately, we have NLP as a resource to help people transition through these universal cycles of change.
In the case of the man who had problems with her teenage daughter, It's not like he could just € â € œdrop offa the relationship with his child. His only option was to reorganize that he was in the context of the relationship. When he stopped treating her like a little girl, and began to treat as an adult, their relationship got better. The magic in what he did with his daughter may be found in the structure of his inner experience. He had an internal representation of his being a little girl. When he moved to the representation of his being an adult, then she began to act as an adult. In doing so, he has managed to create a whole new experience with his daughter.
What happened with the man and his daughter brings me back to the original question I posed earlier in this article. â € œHow is our inner reality directly linked to our external reality, and how the two influence each other? Â €
Our external reality is a reflection of our inner reality. What nature can do to USA € "is to serve as a perfect model for creating the life we want and change to higher levels of personal accomplishment and spiritual. Responses to the creation of what we want in life can be found by becoming aware of universal cycles of change and applying them to all areas of life different. There is no reason why we can not exploit the same type of creative potential that exists within the seed of a plant or a star in our galaxy.
Barbara Walters interviewed Multia € "billionaire Bill Gates and asked him, â € œNow you are the richest in the world and you can have all you want, what more could you want to be? Â € Â Gates replied, â € OETO never stop changing. All I do today, will be considered history tomorrow. I am sure I never stop creating, and I'm always changing. "
